Is America Headed in the Right Direction?

Mid-term elections are coming in November and politics are going to be dominating the media in weeks to come.
Numerous issues are likely to have an impact on the candidates selected by voters ranging from immigration, to the war on terror, health care legislation and the virtues of free markets versus more government control of markets. 

One recent poll showed a marked difference in how people view the current direction of our country. The so-called political class think the country is generally headed in the right direction. So-called mainstream Americans have a decidedly different view and are less optimistic.
