Amendment 569 (Funding of Periodic Step Increases)

Several readers have requested a copy of the amendment to withhold funding for the payment of within-grade increases for the federal workforce for the remainder of the current fiscal year. Here is the wording for this amendment.

As we have previously written, Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) has proposed an amendment to HR 1 for the purpose of withholding within-grade increases for federal employees. Several readers have asked to see a copy of the amendment which has not yet been widely published.

FedSmith has obtained a copy of the amendment. It is amendment number 569 to the bill to fund the federal government for the remainder of the current fiscal year which ends on September 30, 2011.

Amendment No. 569: At the end of the bill (before the short title), insert the following: Sec. __. None of the funds made available by this Act may be used to fund periodic step increases described in Section 5335 of Title V of the United States Code.
