If you're a last-minute shopper, you might be a last-minute shipper. If you want your well-wishes to arrive on or before Dec. 25, the Postal Service can handle your procrastination with efficiency and style.
Dec. 20 is the last recommended day to mail First-Class and Priority Mail, but if you're using Express Mail, you can send your letter or package as late as Dec. 23.
Gifts 
sent by Express Mail are automatically insured for $100 and guaranteed to be delivered just in time. In many communities, your carrier may even get a little help from Santa Claus on Christmas Day.
Express Mail packages and envelopes are available in Post Office lobbies across the nation. You can prepare your mailing at the Post Office or, if you have access to the Internet, you can pay postage, print mailing labels, and get price savings on Priority and Express Mail when you ship online at usps.com.
USPS also offers free package pickup. Just get your packages ready, request Carrier Pickup online at usps.com and skip the trip to the Post Office.
The Postal Service expects to deliver 19 billion letters, packages and cards between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
