I love mid & small caps. Give us gold, high yield bonds, REITs, international bonds.

These funds (small cap, precious metals, REITs etc.) can climb quickly in value. However... they can fall quickly in value too as history has proven. As such, they should be used in smaller percentages to diversify a portfolio and not as primary holdings.

I recently lowered my percentage in the S fund to 10% from a high of 15% the past few years. I will be retiring in 3-4 years and do not expect to withdraw from my TSP account for as long as possible. I am thinking of lowering my S percentabe to 5% mostly to stay diversified. Is this a good idea or should I stay at 10%? Long on investing.

How do I get help to figure out if my investments are working as well as they can. I have been considering the L fund. I really need some assistance. I plan on retiring in four years.
I have been with USPS for over 20 years and most of those years I used on the G fund. Just recently switched to 70% G
10%S, 10%C and 10%I.
