This is merely a question, and does not reflect any criticism about the courts' rulings, but aren't there statutes of limitation on collecting back pay from the government?

Will the agencies step up and do the right thing? Or will this become a moneymaker for the attorneys?
Look at the FLSA settlement. I did not join the FLSA settlement because I thought the government would do the right thing for all agents wrongly denied FLSA. I was wrong.
To get justice you HAVE to sue the government!
My advice to all federal employees (current or retired) who were reservists at anytime, immediately go to www.MSPB.gov and file an electronic appeal against your agency.
It is not that hard to do and MSPB is a good agency that seems to really care.
Compensation for Inappropriately Charged Military Leave
United States Postal Service

I am a retired USPS employee. During my 39 year career, I served in the TN Army National Guard for 34 years. I was charged military leave for my days off Sat/Sun; consequently, I ended up using annual leave to fullfill my military obligation. In recent years that was changed to charge you only for those days where you were scheduled to work. But for many, many years, the USPS charged for non-scheduled days as part of your allotted 15 days Military Leave. I recently contacted a manager in the time-keeping section of the USPS operation in Nashville, TN and was told the USPS was EXEMPT from the Butterbaugh ruling. This is simply unfair. I am paid retirement from the Civil Service Agency (Federal), but I do not receive the same benefits as other federal employees.
Is the United States Postal Service EXEMPT from Butterbaugh?
Sincerely,
Mike Stokes

Can you tell good sources to assist me in determinining how to proceed with resolving improper charge of military leave. I am retired now, spent 25 years in USAR and Active Guard/Resure duty (AGR). Worked for Interior Dept 1973-78, then DOL/MSHA during 1978-80 and 83-86. With DOE from 1990 to present.
Appreciate any useful advice.

Can someone tell me what's going on with this. The VA still is not moving forward with their own memo stating they will right this wrong. They claim their Regional Counsel in VACO is STILL debating over this. There is not debated, it's a mandate. Can someone share some light as to how to fight this inertia from VA? Thanks
After 20 yrs in the miilitary reserve, you will think that of all agencies the VA will respond quickly to this red tape issue.
