I know, whenever I see a Bob Gilson article, I'm going to see his normal anti union pro management animus. This article was no different. Gilson is just a management shill. I don't know why Fedsmith keeps giving him a platform for this nonsense.

Yesterday a spirited homage to the head of NASA and today for the NLRB General Counsel - Bob's not anti-union, he's just sucking up to the people who are potential customers -- Agency heads and their minions.

Mr. Gilson:

As usual, your opinion, is like wet-paper you know what! You continue your articles in a baraging way to demean Unions and their representatives because, as you like to advertise, of your prior experience in Labor Relations. What a bunch of bunk!

Quit steering others from the Unions and let the processes take their course. Most times management and their attitudes cause the grief that gets placed upon them by the grievance procedures - that is why we have Unions because you all won't behave!!

I have worked in several departments over the years and in every single one we have had employees who did not pull their weight and couldn't perform their jobs adequately. In most cases other employees had to make up for them.

Bottom line, they were not qualified for their jobs but the union situation made in nearly impossible to remove them without a mountain of paperwork and having to prove over and over and over what was obvious to everybody who had to work with them.

I suggest you think twice before blaming management for "not behaving", they aren't the ones keeping incompetent employees on the job and causing others extra work in order to compensate for them.

I read the article but I don't understand a couple of points. What is the name of the Federal Labor Union that was invovled? Also what is so wrong with having an informational picket? Federal employees do not have the right to strike. However, we still have the freedom of being able to voice our position on issues. I don't know the issue involved here. If Mr. Dice-Goldberg is a employee, I hope that he was on his own time? Don't always agree with your views but do enjoy reading them.
