Hi, I was wondering with all the preaching you do about not trying to time the stock market and allowing your investments to sit and ride out market changes, why you are launching a daily fund tracker that will tell you the value of your investments. Seems like a sure fire way to cause folks more stress about their investments and push them to try to time the market even more than they already do. Just a thought.

The tracker is just an indicator. It gives the reader a hint, regarding which way the funds are moving. Kind of like a compass. The info is also available on the TSP website.

Everyone should track their TSP in order to periodically re-balance their portfolios. Some people do this quarterly, some twice a year and some yearly. Apparently some also do it every day.

Our goal is to provide a free service and a useful site. How people choose to invest their retirement funds for their future is up to them. Any advice we offer is free and may be worth what people pay for it! :)

Have anyone done any projections on what will happen to domestic market indices when the retired baby boomers are withdrawing more funds monthly than employed workers are putting into the market? Will this inevitably lead to market declines?

The data you cite lacks clarity. Employees have no control over when stocks are purchased. A quick trend analysis will reveal that the stock prices are up on federal pay periods and down prior to or immediately following. The rate of returns are deceiving. I am not a day trader however, people that are have realized that can do alot better if they control when to purchase or sell.
