I wonder why so few people who live in fly over country get nominated for these tyes of appointments?

How much do you want to bet that we start seeing a lot of positions with 5 year terms, which have been sitting vacant, suddenly being filled by people with the "proper" ideological training? "Proper" meaning from Liberty University, Regent University, Patrick Henry College, etc. Additionally, I expect their work experience will mainly involve work on the Hill from 2001 to 2006, when Congress only acted like a rubber stamp for the Administration's policies.
