That's enough reason for me not to vote for Ms. Clinton for president. Take a great program and ruin it only as Democrats can--and I'm a Democrat!

As usual, the Democrats just want to take away something from those of us who work for a living. Including millions of people in FEHB will cost the government billions of dollars. And you know what will happen? Our FEHB benefits will be reduced and of course our taxes increased.

However, it wasn't only the Democrats who recently passed the Senate bill to allow illegals to receive Social Security. We can only pray that the House will defeat it.
I will have worked 50 years to receive that benefit and I an incensed that the government thinks this bill is OK. Americans who have lived in this great country all of their lives are slowly becoming second-hand citizens and have difficulty getting help in times of need.
Keep the non-Feds out of MY FEHB!!! And pass a law putting Congress on the same benefit plans we drones are on! No more free rides!!!!
FEHB Plan for everyone

I'm not in favor of using FEHB Plan for everyone who is unisured. PERIOD! However, I very much in favor of the FEHB plan being used as a MODEL for a health care paln for all uninsured. Emphasis on the MODEL! As a model, it would provide ample opportunity for several layers of legislative wrangling as well as a focal point for future campaigns since they would never need to accomplish anything. If providing health insurance for the masses of unisured was as vital to our nation as we are led to believe, would it not be reasonable to conclude that the legislators would have something in process or actually have something accomplished by now? Or has this topic just surfaced so recently that Congress and the President have not had the time to devote to this issue. It appears to me to be nothing more than grist for the campaign rhetoric mill.

I'm single and have no 2nd income to help pay for my house payments, bills etc and I'm just making it. I don't need to have to pay tons more because folks are cheating and I'm not. It would have to have some strict rules and penalties before I say OK to it.

Why does anyone think this will work?

California has a form of, "universal," health care and it doesn't work because those who could pay do NOT pay. Plus, there is episode after episode of abuse to the California (government-run) system. Now multiply the failure of the California system times 50 and use Senator Clinton's words, ..."those that can afford to pay for the benefits would do so; those that do not have enough money would be subsidized by the federal government." Folks, why does anyone think this will work? This will only result in extreme tax increases (business and personal) - just as the case in California. Now, to answer the subject line comment/question: the only reason why people think it could work is because they're foolish enough to believe Uncle Sam can do everything.

ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!!!!!!
A Presidential candidate said, ..."Presumably, there would be a separate risk pool for the large number of uninsured who would come into the program but..." and, that "the details would become more clear as it becomes implemented."
Obviously she DOES NOT know what she is talking about OR the consequences of any such action. Once that box is opened, the lid will never be closed.
AND, she voted to give illegal aliens a drivers license - come on, give me a break - what are the laws in this for!
Perhaps Arkansas needs two more residents!
Federal Employee Premiums Will Soar....

The Federal Employees Health Benefit plan is low cost not simply because the government pays a portion of the premiums, but because there is a continual influx of healthy young employees that come to work for the government. This steady stream of new employees make minimal use of the health care system and keep the cost of the FEHB low as they offset the significantly higher cost of medical care by greying federal employees and retirees. It is a delicate balance that in recent years has been tilting in light of increased use of contractors instead of new hires. If the FEHB plan is indeed opened to the "sickest of the sick" then once the millions of uninsurable Americans join the FEHB plan it is obvious that premiums for federal employees will skyrocket. There cannot be a "separate pool" for these folks as suggested in the article, as a pool of the sickest Americans would be unaffordable. Thank you, but I would prefer to donate to others through the Combined Federal Campaign....
