I'd be remiss if I didn't respond to the "intake advocate in Philadelphia" when he/she says: "…[T]he only candidate that can beat McCain is Hillary Clinton. I feel she is the only candidate strong enough to bring our country back from the finical trouble we are in. The other two do not have enough experience in many things but mostly in foreign affairs."
Hil's trips to foreign countries during her husband's tenure as president amounted to little more than glorified vacations! How, in anyone's imagination does that equate to "experience in foreign affairs"? Give me an ever-lovin' break!

I guess I am in the minority, but I am thrilled to vote for either Obama or McCain! They are both good, upstanding people who care about this country and want to do what is right for us, rather than just getting power for themselves. No more dynasties! They both have different strengths and good ideas. This is the first election in a loooong time in which I will be voting FOR a candidate and not against another candidate--that is, as long as Hillary stays off the ticket. Then, it would be McCain all the way!

Thank you Anti-Obamaites for helping me to understand why so much racism still exists in USA - it's because you and your families stayed in America when the U.S.Govt and state governments spewed so much hatred against African Americans - that's why you still speak with forked tongues when you really would like to see "strange fruit" hanging from trees! And if you think hanging around them folks didn't influence you - take another look in the mirror - I guess that's why you're so afraid of Obama. And experience, oh well - that's another blog line! GW and his crew had enough experience to get us entangled in a war and most of the Muslim world out to kill us - if not just starve us to death!

If a Colin Powell, or Clarence Thomas, or another individual of that stature were to be a nominee, I would vote for them!!!! Your candidate Obama is a closet Marxist as far as I am concerned, and I despise Marxism and everything it represents! That is why I am not voting for him!
Get over it. Just because people oppose Obama does not automatically make them a racist! You sound more like a racist than those you accuse!

Your comments obviously indicate that your feelings on this matter. Sorry, it's not a black vs white issue. You demean Obama when you voice opinions such as you did- he has merit based on his qualifications - none of which have to do with his being black. Yep, racism is alive and well alright - ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE.

I voted for Clinton in the primary. If the race is between Obama and McCain I will probably vote for Obama. This is not to avoid a racism charge. It is because Obama has views close to mine that the radical Republican right.
The issue has nothing to view with racism. Also, please note that blacks voted very heavily for Obama. Does that make them racist?
Please note that some voters will vote with race in mind. This is true whether they are black or white. Cut the racist nonsense and talk about the issues.

If anyone has a right to feel stepped on, it is the American Indian.Look at what has been done to his former home.He has been evicted, and confined to reservations on land so poor a jackrabbit has to pack his lunch to get across. The American Dream is still alive, but only to those who do not make dreams their master, but use dreams as a goal to work towards.

Since you have expressed your personal opinion, here is mine: You must be completely delusional to consider Obama as a viable candiate for President. But then, of course, since you are apparently a part of the "Liberal Establishment" of this nation, that is no surprise! The vast majority of our nation's problems can be attributed to the zealots and doomsayers who comprise this misguided and mis-informed "establishment." Have a good day.

McCain is a war monger just like Bush. Bush is keeping us in Iraq just to protect oil. Bush and Cheney are making money on the war while innocent kids are getting killed. Bush has used 911 as a tool to keep american people in favor of the war. This is wrong. Bush should have been impeached along time ago.

You don't even realize that the overwhelmingly liberal media is doing such a great job in its goal to brainwash you!
What you said don't even sound like your own thoughts, but rather like something out of the Washington Post! To hear you talk, Bush is the root of all evil - oh, but I guess you DO think that.

I am not a democrat or a republican as I don't agree with some of the ideas of both candidates but, I believe that we need to protect our borders so terriost can not enter the our country and we should not be protecting every other country because if we were in the same situation as some of the countries we are fighting for do you honestly think they would come help us (I don't think so).

I have major problems with McCains political party. It is run by the radical right. All they care about is the wealthy.
The permanent tax cuts tilt to the wealthy. The marginal tax rates were lowered a great deal for the wealthy, while much less for the middle class. The dividend tax cuts are aimed primarily for the wealthy. The estate tax cuts are aimed at the wealthy because middle class estates are generally tax free or close to tax free. The business tax cuts are primarily for the wealthy and the upper middle class.
The middle class gets temporary child credits and temporary college credits.
Please do not forget the lies the Republicans gave us about the Iraq war. Where is the poison gas and nuclear development that Iraq was supposed to have been developing? It was never found. This was the reason for the United States intervention. Since it was not found, we should be spending our assets in the United States on such things as health care, infrastructure, etc.

I think the black man and woman have done everything humanly possible. In time of war you call upon us to serve; we are there. when you take a look at our country , the only real ally the white man has id the black. because he has as much of a stake in this country as the white man. they don't read there history.

You want to know how to stop racism? Keep people like Wright out of the pulpit. Instead of teaching hatred like he does, find people who want to talk about the positives the African American community has contributed. Then use that to encourage others to
do the same. As silly as it sounds, people can accomplish much with reason, smarts, and determination. Flinging hatred in public places (like Church) doesn't do anything but create more hatred.
And, IT specialist, there are lots of WHITE men and women who have tried to stop racism also. You need to read the history also - all of it. And, by the way, white men and women are called on everyday to serve this country. Check the records of those who have given their lives. You will see a VARIETY of different ethnics
who were so brave to do so.

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), 10/10/02
"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force, if necessary, to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), 10/9/02.

These are reasons why I didn't vote for Kerry in 2004. And why I'm not voting for Hilary Clinton in 2008. And I won't vote for McCain either.

I am a 100% Obama supporter and it's not because of his race. Some people are so racist, they would rather choose a white person no matter what will happen to our Country. After Bush has made such a mess of this country, ANYONE would be an approvement. I hear comments that Obama does not have experience...so Bush does?
