Nothing against Colorado Springs, but since when is Colorado considered part of the "southwest"? It looks to be in the Rocky Mountain west to me. And how could this list not include the Texas Panhandle? Pantex, et al

If the formula used to determine which are southwestern states included Oklahoma the author missed Okla. City as a place with excellent job opportunities. This is a great place for all types of Federal and federal related jobs. Oklahoma City has Tinker AFB which employs close to 14,000 civilians as contractor negotiators, engineers, logistic mgrs and aircraft mechanics, an FAA center with several thousand white collar jobs and many private employers who serve as business partners for Tinker and the FAA. There are also many non defense Federal agencies in the metro area which employ several thousand people. The metro area has a low cost of living, excellent housing price (reputed to be among the best in the country), good schools and tons of recreational facilities. Someone wanting a job should look into Okla. City or the other cities in the State with Federal agencies and businesses doing business with these agencies, i.e., Lawton, Altus, Tulsa.
