Hitting a Co-Worker Leads to Removal

I have worked for the Postal Service for over 12 years. In that time, I have myself felt like assaulting somebody from time to time. In fact, I even thought that a little "old school" style of settling differences would help in some cases. Especially those employees who I feel hide behind the protection of their job to treat fellow employees however they wish. However, after working for the USPS for all these years, it is comforting to know that "almost" all the time, I can go to a job without having to worry about other co-workers or managers pushing things too far. I do agree with the decision to remove the carrier, but deep down I understand how he could have allowed his temper to get the best of him. Hopefully, fellow hotheads like myself will learn from his mistake.

A great lesson can be learned from this. The carrier was fired after admitting he struck the other carrier. Always remember,

1.) Admit nothing
2.) Deny Everything
3.) Demand Proof
4.) Reguest Legal council

If you feel the urge to hurt someone else, seek counseling and maybe you need some meds. I am not trying to be funny here. Coworkers can be a hassle no doubt, but working someplace where a fight is not likely to break out is a comfort.

I was assaulted by a CBP Supervisor while working as a Federal Officer, I complained to DHS Internal Affairs, and filed a State Police Complaint. Nothing was done to the White Supervisor who assaulted me, he only got a couple of days on the beach. No Police investigation on the assault and battery because I am not caucasian. So much for Hate Crime while working as a Federal Worker. Is CBP or DHS fair or worried about one group of workers?

i am a minority. but it sounds like this DHS worker is elucidating his grevience by shamlessly playing the race card as noted by his references to WHITE supervisor... and because i am not a caucasian. his grievance may be justified but his choice of words and lack of documentation certainly lowers his credibility in my eyes

There was noting said about the other guy spitting in the fired employees face! That in it self is grounds to invite a person to the sidewalks and go at it. However in the Federal Government world you can't do that, so just wait for a chance to see your fellow employee in perhaps Walmart parking lot or some other place away from the job. Hitting another person is wrong, but when you spit in someone's FACE, you have just put yourself on the open market for a beatdown! But make sure you retire First if you can, then have a retirement party all your former coworker.

2 guys who work in our office also got into a fight, on the street! I think both were suspended with pay and brought back like nothing happened. violence in the workplace or towards a coworker should be zero tolerance and grounds for automatic removal.
