I will support our President where I agree with him and oppose him where I disagree. Anything less would be to give up my core principles. Many of the "talking heads" you refer to are doing just that.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for speaking your mind and my mind. I'm so glad to know there are reasonable people out there who see the need to bring this country together through encouragement and optimism. Obama's failure will be failure for all. Why would anyone hope for this? Give him a chance, which means give him time and your support. Negative thoughts only bear negative fruit and you will get what you ask for. So ask for success.

So you didn't vote for Obama presumably because you didn't like or agree with his message and therefore couldn't vote for him. Ok I understand that. Makes sense. Now he is the president so now you do support him? Why? His message/agenda is at the very least the same if not worse than when he was running. Why in the world would anyone compromise their core beliefs or principals simply because he is now the president? That makes no sense what so ever. By that reasoning we should abandon our principals whenever the winds blow against us. I do not want this country to fail. I believe Obama's policies will lead us to failure. I cannot in good conscience want his policies to succeed. I can however work towards helping to change his views but I cannot support his current actions.

Europe has already embraced socialism, and it spreads the pain around to everyone. This trillion dollar spending is going to bankrupt the country. I have a federal pension. Who is going to pay it when the money is gone from the treasury? I want him to be successful, but his approach won't work, will only make things worse. I'm moving to Germany, at least the Europeans have figured out a way to live under socialism. Americans will never accept the lifestyle.

I will support the President, but I will not support his socialistic plans. Our country was not based on that and will be the downfall of our Great County! I supported Bush, but not his war plans. You can support a Prez all the way to the poor house! Where will that get us if WE do not ask questions or listen to the debaters. What can I say! Why did Obama sign off all those "earmarks" when they were held over from the "Democrats" from Bush era because they couldn't get them passed then. Obama has gone back on his campaign promise to benfit what Pelosi and Reid wanted! Can you not see that once a politician...always a policitian! Get real!!

First, this is a perfect world article but we have to remember a couple of things:
1. When I have watched any President give his speech to Congress (Remembering the last one with GW Bush) I distinctly remember PuGlosi sitting there with her arms crossed, never once applauding anything he said. I distinctly remember when they panned the audience of House and Senate members, the "arms crossed" on all the Dems instead of showing support. Do they not think this is TELEVISED for all to see? Bottom line, It is THEM that are making the laws, new rules, etc. Everyone can get behind Obama but this is PuGlosi's deal.
2. I live and breath a set of values that have been instilled in me for many years. I hold them to my heart and those values and principles help me in my day to day decisions. I am against stem cell research, abortion and other things. Now, you're telling me I need to get behind the President, as a loyal American, and support him? NOPE!
