Why should we take your articles seriously any longer if you are apoligizing for mistakes ahead of time...as if we should assume there are plenty of misquotes and you are pandering for a job for a friend? While I don't always agree with your take on issues in your commentaries, I did take them seriously in the past. Now...not so much!

I was a non-attorney in 1979 when the DOL unit under the A/SLMR became part of the FLRA. It was the full employment act for attorneys then, and Member Beck said he needed to hire more attorneys now (sends wrong message to issue-focused problem solving non-attorneys). I didn't hear anything that was on the radar screen to make FLRA an "employer of choice."

Morale was low then. Morale is low now. In 30 years, I have seen little change. FLRA is understaffed, and challenged to carry out their basic mission responsibilities. There are a few dedicated and hard-working FLRA employees, but they face insurmountable barriers. One fact Member Beck also mentioned, FLRA didn't spend the money they were getting, and they got their budget cut accordingly.

I was at the DELRS conference and share Gilson's assessment--particularly on the low priority given to FLRA research tools.

By the time they get this show on the road, we will have another Administration with different priorities.

Bob,

I have three open GS-13 LER positions and may have a GS-14 LER position available in the future.
