Anyone who thinks at this point that we can ever go back to having screeners' positions privatized has not watched the news or traveled abroad. American's are not high on most "likability" lists with any number of foreign countries. Countries that have factions whose main focus is to bring down the USA. You may recall that prior to 9/11 those positions were held by the private sector. Clearly they were inept.

My husband has a college education and is committed to serving his country. He has 16 years of service to the government in various capacities, including active military duty, which included ten months away from his family during the first gulf war. His specialty has always been related to policing. He is qualified for his position and puts up with a great deal of idiocy from the public and the higher ups who are less qualified than him! The GS pay scale is very much needed, as currently the pay situation is really left to your ability to kiss butt and play golf.

HR 1881 is essentially the reintroduced HR 3212 Bill that passed the House and Senate in 2006, which was attached to the 911 Bill. Former President Bush made it clear that he would veto the 911 Bill if HR 3212 was attached, so it sat in limbo for three years. The main point is that it passed the House and Senate before and I believe that it should be passed and made into law.
I served TSA for 6+ years and AFGE was the only union to fight for us, by supporting HR 3212 and representing and fighting an omnipotent management.
AFGE has been in support of HR 3212 and HR 1881 and recently filed with the FLRA for a labor election.
NTEU who? They showed up last year saying how great CBP is and slandered AFGE at every opportunity, confusing the true issues! TSOs need GS pay, OPM standards, MSPB appeal rights and mainly collective bargaining rights as AFGE as the Union! God Bless AFGE in this righteous campaign!

I guess u r unaware of the fact that TSA has about 800 aviation, cargo and canine inspectors. where do they fall in the mix? there are others that aren't tsos where do they stand?

do a little research. we should all go gs and then take screening operations private.
