Obama Performance

I can't see anyone rating Obama when he came into office with a host of problems, which consists of bad decisions that were already made by the previous President. He can't clean up this mess overnight, but yet there are so many quick to judge him and they probably say anything when the previous president has been messing for 8 years.

Appears the results of this poll is split down the political lines.....democrats and republicans.

And why are we doing this at 100 days? Is this a take off the first gulf war? !00 days to liberate Kuwait?

Full time Federal employmentgives your readers the luxury option of kicking back and viewing unemployment and this recession with Conservative and ambivalent eyes. They have steady incomes and are keeping food on their tables and the mortgage paid. But the country has been in a mess for quite some time. Federal workers only see it thru their 401 K's. The smart ones just transferred everything to the G or F Funds and left them there. I give Obama credit for trying hard. Defintitely more of a concerted effort than his predecessor who's claim to fame was IRAQ. Remember, this just did not happen over night. And it will take years to undo this mess. Fed workers, Just be thankful you have a good job and quit being so critical!!!

It was people just like you who was bascially destroyed anyone who expressed a negative opinion of GW during his first TERM (not 100 days) in office. Look at what happened to the Dixie Chicks, just because a member of that group said she was embarrased to be from the same state as GW. Their career was blown out of the water. But now you people have no qualms making judgement after this President has been in office a little over 100 days.

I'm an Indie. The response was to the original poster who basically said that I have a federal job so I need to shut up and color. I guess your political bias allows you to be blinded also. Too bad you are caught up in the political spin cycle. Me? I criticize them all when I disagree with them -- Obama, Bush, Clinton......gasp, even my local politicians. I like to think of myself as the equal opportunity AH. Don't forget the sugar.

What a surprise. Your readers' evaluation of President Obama's performance almost exactly mirrors your readers' voting in the election. Had this been a formal poll the difference between pre- and post election percentages would be well within the statistical margin of error.
The poll's main showing is that your respondents aren't prepared to change their opinions based on performance, but cling to their preferences regardless of actual results. Put another way, your respondents select the results they evaluate and ignore anything that conflicts with their preconceived beliefs. It's not surprising, but it's also a waste of time.

I find it interesting that the national polls almost unanimously give Obama well over 50% approval ratings so far. Since we've just passed the 100 day mark, I would be surprised if the percentage remains that high for 4 years. The point is, most Americans are pleased with what he's done so far.
I've come to the conclusion that Fedsmith.com either has a slightly conservative bias or that the readership leans in that direction - and that's okay as long as folks understand that your survey results are slightly out of step with other surveys asking the same question.

Lots of polarized people answered this survey, as is usually the case in a non scientific survey.
Slightly more than half voted for mccain and slightly more than half don't like obama.
To get more insight you should have added questions about the previous administration.
How many voted for Bush in 2004?
How many think that was a mistake?
I'd bet you get the same distribution.
Generally people who scream socialist and call names at obama, voted for Bush and won't accept that his 8 years
put this country in the shape it is in now.
This survey made clear to me who reads this web page and not much else. I wonder what the same surveys on FOX and MSNBC would result in.

This site is full of conservatives, mostly white male professionals, so of course they don't approve of Obama. Loook at how they voted. Toyally out of wack with the USA.The party of No. No health care change, keep Iraqu at war forever, no choice, no gay marriage, no stimulus, no global warming, no science, no evolution, no female equality, no EEO, no birth control .
The result: the party has no minorities, no Control of any region except the confederacy, No republicans in the white house. No control of the House, No control of the senate. and a party made up of 21% of the country There are not enough white male confedreates to control anything. Grow up or or go the way of the whigs, and federalists

I am a conservative, white male professional (not sure why the initial poster felt it neccessary to use race). I do not agree with the policies of BHO; not because I'm conservative, white or a professional, but because I believe his policies are ill conceived and will be disasterous to this country.
