I agree with the Navy's decision to let Mr. Koch go. I also believe that they were more than generous by allowing Mr. Koch time to reflect on and correct his behavior during the suspensions. Did he honestly expect for the military to continue tolerating his disrespect toward colleagues with nothing more than a warning? I have been both military and a civilian employed by the Federal government and I believe it's unrealistic to expect that.

Feeling Physically threatened without a threat

This fellow seems like a jerk. I see a hint of discrimination in here though. she felt "physically threatened" by Koch since he is a big man and "kept yelling."

too am a big guy and have to be aware of it. If I say the exact same thing in the exact same way as someone who is much smaller it is taken very differently. It is not at all fair to me and other big men. My boss, a 5 foot woman, is far louder and aggressive than I am. If I did half of what she did someone would call the police on me. I am not talking about physical threats, just getting upset and raising voices.

I just subscribed to fedsmith,I think this guy was not vindicated as he should have been, but I am trying to figure out the title of this "Threes a charm"! Is fed smith for or against federal employees.I didn't like that title, I felt it was resentful and frustrating IF WE ARE TRYING TO SUPPORT FEDRAL EMPLOYEES.

We provide news and information for and about the federal community. We are not a union or an advocacy group. There are news items that portray federal employees in a variety of ways--some of them are favorable and some are not. We look for news items we think will be of interest. Some news items will irritate some readers who prefer to see only favorable articles similar to what they might see on a union website or an advocacy group that always presents one point of view. You will find readers with diverse opinions and articles that reflect diverse interests, often with a sense of humor. We are not for or against federal employees; just a news and information site for the federal community.

VA Employee - this guy willfully failed to perform his job and started altercations with other employees. He was reprimanded and told that was unacceptable and yet he the repeated the behaivor anyway.

Why do you think this kind of conduct merits his being vindicated?

You are confused alright.

You should only support those fed employees who deserve it. Right?

You are making things worse by supporting bad behavior. Pls. tell me you understand.

VA Employee, we're still waiting - why do you think his behavior (willfully not doing his job and starting altercations with other employees despite management's warnings) merits his being vindicated?

Mr. Koch was offensive that's for sure, and needed to be removed from his position; however, aren't there others such as those in elected positions that are just as offensive? Shouldn't they be removed as well?

I going to give you my answer. I am confused because their are coworkers who are out to get you!.I feel that this guy was the targeted to get rid of . I am currently working in this type of atmosphere. Two faced ,kiniving ,coworkers who will grin in your face and do anything t hey can to irritate you or make you have a emotional outburst as this guy did . A emotional OUTBURST I repeat a emotional outburst. That is why I am CONFUSED!!!. If this guy took it this far three's a charm, he must have known there was more to this story. He and his lawyer must have had some indication, he would be vindicated. We don't know all the information that was thrown out of his case,
or everyone involved is not telling us. This is why I am on HIS SIDE. Thanks for explainining your position at fedsmith. This is why I feel this guy should be vindicated. IT IS MORE TO THIS STORY .

CONFUSED STILL

VA Employee - While your answer explains how you feel about unpleasant work situations in general, your answer says nothing about the particular situation of the employee you tell us should be vindicated.

It is on record that he willfully walked off the job. Do you have information that renders that documentation null and void?

It is on record that he repeatedly started altercations with other employees. Do you have information that renders that documentation null and void?

It is on record that he repeated his behaivor after being warned by management not to. Do you have information that renders that documentation null and void?
