Great idea - the result of which will be the long expected retirement tsunami. No one who can go, will stay to watch more of their income taken from them.

Can you actually document that? And not by using Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity as your source??

And will this be a 40% excise tax or a figure added to your taxable income? Thus, if you are in the 15% bracket or 25% bracket or whatever, the tax will not be 40%.
I would like to know exactly what this is by the source, not a reporter who may be innacurate.

I do not make twice as much as the average American on my federal salary. Perceptions are wrong when it comes to the average federal employee. If you take away the locality pay (and some areas do not even receive this extra), the salary goes down greatly-by $thousands. The reason for the locality pay is that federal salaries are NOT comparable to the private sector. When you add in the locality pay, the salaries are just breaking even in most cases.
Huh?

I don't mind paying my part of what the increase for the new health insurance would be but I feel passionate about paying only my portion. The burden of the healthcare system should not fall on the federal employee's shoulders.
The other thing I feel a little disturbed about is that people feel we are overpaid. That may have been the case many years ago but with all of the cuts, etc. this is no longer the truth. Also, when you compare federal workers to the general public, this is a very inequitable comparison. In the federal government, we do no have as much unskilled labor as the general public. You are not comparing apples to apples.

they have to pay for the plan somehow, someway and they will do it off the backs of the federal worker. Of course that does not include our stellar congressmen and senators, but on the other hand you do get to pay for the illegal criminal aliens that the Dems love so much.
Now how about that for transparency?

The problem is that the right wingers get worked up over something that probably will not happen in the way reported and then blame the dems. That is why the dems respond the way they did.
A better critisism would be to critisize the proposal itself.
If you throw mud, you will get it back.

The Dems didn't "own" Congress for two years. They held a slim majority, so nothing got passed without a lot of Republicans signing on to the legislation. And, just a reminder--the president at the time was fully capable of using his veto power.
Oh, wait! The wasteful bills that got through were HIS proposals, including the bank/auto bailouts and the cruddy credit card "reform" that resulted in the CC companies raising rates 200-300%. Ever see an interest rate triple on a soldier because he was "high risk" due to the wars? It isn't pretty at all.
And, while you whine about "your money", not all agencies are paid via tax dollars. There are several that have to generate their own revenue (ICE, SSA, etc.) and are not on the public payroll at all. Then they pay taxes to support YOUR retirement.
The biggest problem in our country is a institutional selfishness and you are a poster child for said problem.

Once again, NObama and his cronies are going to make his promises work at the expense of the hard working 2 million Feds. Does this also include the military folks? It should not include the military or the feds.
For those of you who voted for this guy I have one question --- ARE YOU SORRY YET? I think I'll print up a bunch of bumper stickers and start handing out in in the central plains.
Can't wait until 2012 to vote this guy out before he totally ruins this country.

It sounds like you would be better off on the Government welfare program...free food, free housing, free credit card reimbursement, free healthcare, free transportation, free loans, everything is free...except for the slug taxpayers that are footing the expenses.
