Stupidity knows no bounds. He should have been prosecuted in addition to removal and his case should have been tossed out. You do NOT joke about killing anyone, especially government employees in the course of their duties. This is a criminal act and should have been followed through. If a child can be suspended from school for a week for bringing in empty, discharged shotshell hulls, then this idiot should be in jail.

A "Darwin Award" candidate... Too bad the Army settled with this individual who is needy of character education and self-discipline training, not a government job or expunging of his record. Bar him from Belvoir and handgun purchases in additon to termination for cause and give him a "Darwin Award Certificate" suitable for framing.

Shame on the Army for expunging the personnel records of this clearly dangerous and unstable individual. Stop passing off problem employees to other unsuspecting employers so that their workplaces can become playgrounds for unproductive idiots.
When you make threats of this type, not only should individual be removed immediately and effectively barred as the Army did, but they should clearly be identified as potential threats to others and effectively barred from anytime of work environment that is not self employment.

I can't believe the Army would agree or settle to provide a neutral reference for a dangerous individual. I question if this man later becomes employed and hurts someone at his new place of employment could the Army be liable for not forewarning the employer?
