This type of memo will be helpful. I've encountered employees (my own and co-workers) whose communication styles lacked professionalism. During one performance evaluation I noted I received several comments concerning this employee's communications, from people at various levels in the organization. I expressed the desire to send the employee to a course on how to communicate in a professional manner - but no such course existed. The employee's face fell and they expressed no one had ever mentioned a concern about their communications before.
When supervisors don't address performance elements, no one benefits. Of course, there are some people that believe they communicate effectively if they get their 'way' in the end, no matter how many working relationships are damaged along the way.

The problem we have where I work is that the supervisor is viewed so poorly by outside agencies that the workforce is being compromised.
With a little modification, I could use this letter to let our supervisor know what we, as a workforce, expect of him, also.
Good letter, and thank you.
