I get to represent employees who voted for me. By choosing me over another candidate, that I am on a path they believe will work to their benefit. And, I would be a fool to forget them when I am in negotiations with management. I've yet to see a management official elected.

I think I have said this before about these types of articles. It's good if the employer wants to invest in a 100% chief negotiator. But they just do not see the benefit nor the will power. It's too much like work. My Union has been waiting on the employer to designate a chief negotiator for over 6 months. I talk with some Supervisors and they come up with plenty of excuses. This one is the best. "If I can not do a job well I won't do it at all" Now what employee under his supervision is allowed to take that approach with their jobs?
