Retired manager US Postal Service Wed Jun 24, 2009 12:52 PM
The Postal Service has been in heavily involved in improving safety in all of its facilities. Every large facility goes through a rigorous and thorough internal OSHA based inspection every year. The results of those inspections play into each facility's merit calculations.
Older facilities have bigger safety issues. P&DCs have more safety issues going on in their buildings. Some facilities clearly empower their employees to identify and correct safety problems - unblocking acess to power panels, moving rolling stick and reporting conditions they are unable to repair. Unfortunately, some plants have failed to empower the bests sets of eyes - the clerk on the floor. Where there is a lack of buy-in from employees on safety awareness, safety problems fester

The USPS is a insult to OSHA.
They lie, conceal, ignore safety. Deception, deception, deception. All talk no walk. OMG,
