It is so nice to read such a positive article. Postmaster Weatherby is to be applauded for her dedicated service. I have owned horses for years. Often they are injured and it is critical to have access to medication in time. This story is a tremendous example of good will in action and made my heart sing. It's so uplifting to read good news for a change. Marilyn, thanks for being such a great reporter!

This is what we, as public servants should do and hooray for the Postmaster.........!!! Showing that we care about one another and their problems is a plus, but going the extra mile is an exceptional trait.

The postal workers do not get nearly the credit they should. I am not a postal worker, nor am I married to one or related to one but I can tell you they indeed can become just like family!
My mother who is elderly lives with us and we live out in the county and have had the same postal carrier for over 15 years. If she has not seen mother in a while she will call us at home after hours to make sure all is well.
Their job is not an easy one whether they are in the office, delivering in town or are the rural carriers. We appreciate what they do!
Don't expect the same from UPS or FedEx!

Postal employees are the eyes and ears of their communities, and -- daily -- perform countless such acts. Thank you for the positive coverage.
Going Postal

Whenever I hear or see the dreaded two word phrase "Going Postal" I immediately respond by citing examples like this person as the true meaning of that phrase. There's rarely a day that goes by without a story of a Postal worker coming to the aid of someone in a life threating situation. Add to that the annual NALC food drive, the many million$ raised annually by employee contributions to the CFC, and the tremendous success of the Breast Cancer Stamp Program, and you have the true definition of "Going Postal".
Kudos to Postmaster
