Great story, although math is apparently not your strong point. 1939 is 70 years ago, not 80.

...and I see that based on my comment you have now corrected the story and title to show 70 years rather than 80 years. Good work.

Um, no, the article says "70" in numerous parts. Nowhere in the article is the number "80" even mentioned.

To the program analyst at OPM: See my comment above. The title and the article both said 80 years when it was originally published. They corrected it after I sent in my comment.

very well Claims rep, your petty insult stands. I'm sure you're proud.

It wasn't an insult, rather I was just pointing out a factual error. Every journalist should be dedicated to accuracy, so while you may not like my choice of words when I pointed out the error, I am sure the author and/or editor appreciated that I pointed out the need for a correction.
I've read many of Marilyn Loeser's articles and always find them to be well written and insightful, so I certainly didn't mean my comment to be insulting.

If anyone can find anything else out about this soldier please post it. He apparently lived in Moore, Ohio before joining the Civilian Conservation Corps and working at Fort Knox. He was born in Poland. Any ideas on tracking ancestors of this soldier would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who participated in honoring this soldier unidentified for 70 years.

I attended St Brigid's when I was stationed at Knox in the 80's. Great parish and good people there.
