The Internal Revenue Service recently announced the new mileage rates for operating a vehicle for business purposes in 2016.
And based on those figures, the General Services Administration has now said that it is going to follow suit with using these new rates next year for federal workers who use their own vehicles on the job.
The rate per mile for using a privately owned car will drop from 57.5 cents per mile to 54 cents per mile starting January 1, 2016, a 6% decrease.
The complete listing of GSA’s mileage reimbursement rates is available on the GSA website.
