New OPM Director Nominated

President Trump has nominated a new director for the Office of Personnel Management according to an announcement today from the White House.

He will nominate Dale Cabaniss of Virginia to succeed current acting director Margaret Wiechert for a term of four years.

Ms. Cabaniss previously served as Chairman of the Federal Labor Relations Authority and spent more than 20 years in the United States Senate overseeing civil service issues on the Committee on Governmental Affairs  and the Committee on Appropriations. Ms. Cabaniss earned her B.A. from the University of Georgia and J.D. from the Catholic University of America.

OPM has been without a permanent director since the departure of Jeff Pon last October.
