Capitola Letter Carrier Cris Mariani delivers mail every day to her customers and she keeps a look out for everyone on her route. When one of her elderly customers did not pick up her mail for two days, Mariani sensed something was awry.
After 52 years of combined government service – 26 years in the military and another 26 for the Postal Service – all in the community of Twentynine Palms, Customer Service Supervisor Richard Manthey retired for the second time.
On September 8, a major power outage occurred that affected much of California and Arizona. San Diego Postal employees worked throughout the outage to ensure mail was delivered.
