CMU to Offer 15% Discount on Tuition for Federal Employees

OPM and Central Michigan University have announced an agreement to give federal workers and their families discounts on tuition.

Central Michigan University and the Office of Personnel Management have announced a new agreement that will give federal employees, their spouses and qualified dependents discounts to online programs and classes at CMU’s satellite locations.

The agreement provides federal employees and their families a 15 percent tuition discount and waives the application fee for certificate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs for qualified individuals.

More than 30 academic programs are available through the Federal Employee Discount agreement, with an emphasis on programs that focus on the federal government’s mission-critical occupations.

OPM also recently announced an agreement with Excelsior College to offer tuition discounts for federal workers.

“The agreement the federal government has with CMU will provide access to higher education and help individuals further their careers,” said OPM Acting Director Beth F. Cobert. “It will also help to close vital skills gaps that currently exist within the federal government — especially in fields such as engineering management, human resources, cybersecurity and acquisitions.”
