OPM has released the results of its 2011 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. Despite a two year pay being imposed on federal employees, the number of survey respondents who said they are satisfied with their pay only declined 3.3% from the 2010 survey.
In 2010, 65.8% responded positively with regards to the satisfaction of their pay. In 2011, it declined slightly to 62.5%. Interestingly, both the 2010 and 2011 response percentages are higher than in 2008 when only 60.4% reported satisfaction with their pay. A total of 253,704 employees responded to the pay question in the 2011 survey.
Satisfaction with pay was the biggest area of decline from 2010 to 2011 in the “My Satisfaction” section of the survey. The other areas where employees were polled showed declines as well, albeit small ones. The table below delineates the response percentages across the areas in which employees were questioned.
