Retirement Backlog Stays Flat in November

The backlog of outstanding retirement claims at OPM saw almost no reduction in November.

The Office of Personnel Management didn’t make much of a dent in the outstanding backlog of retirement applications last month.

While OPM was able to process more claims than it received (5,672 new claims were received and 5,714 were processed), the outstanding backlog now stands at 14,134, down only ever so slightly from October when it stood at 14,176.

In October, OPM was able to reduce the backlog by just over 3,500 claims.

The latest retirement processing status report is included below.
