OPM: Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey Coming in May

The 2017 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) will be distributed beginning in May according to an announcement from OPM.

The Office of Personnel Management has announced that the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) will be released to agencies beginning in May this year.

It will be to provided in two waves, the first of which will be at the start of May, and each agency’s survey will be open for six weeks, with the last surveys closing in late June. Result reports will be provided on a rolling basis starting in August, 2017.

The Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey is a tool that measures employees’ perceptions of whether, and to what extent, conditions characterizing successful organizations are present in their agencies.

OPM stressed that the FEVS is an important way to let federal employees know that their opinions matter, while providing necessary resources for agency leadership to translate those opinions into results.

Results from the survey help identify trends in federal workplace from the perspective of the employees, highlighting areas that show success and also areas that need improvement. OPM compiles results from the surveys at unlocktalent.gov.
