When Do I Begin Receiving the FERS Annuity Supplement?

I just received my first interim FERS payment. When can I expect to begin receiving the supplement?

Q: I just received my first interim FERS payment. No information or amount for the supplement is included. Is this normal, and if so when will I see the supplement?

A: You will only begin receiving the Annuity Supplement when your case is finalized. The interim payment does not reflect any Annuity Supplement for which you may be eligible. If you were eligible for the Supplement when you retired and the case didn’t get finalized until 3 months later, the finalized case payment would include any retroactive supplement payable.

Based on some comments we have received from readers, 6-12 months to process a retirement application is not unusual.
