FRTIB Seeking TSP Fund Managers

A request for proposal has been issued seeking managers for four of the funds within the TSP.

The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, the agency that oversees the Thrift Savings Plan, has issued a request for proposal for managers for the F, C, S and I funds.

The FRTIB will select two managers who will each manage assets for all four Funds. The contract with each manager will be for a two- year term, with four two-year options. The FRTIB expects to award the contracts by December 2019.

BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, N.A. (BlackRock), a firm selected through full and open competitions, is the current manager for these assets.

As of April 2019, the F, C, S and I funds held $29.5 billion, $206.4 billion, $72.2 billion, and $49.8 billion in assets, respectively.
