Republicans Call for Ousting of IRS Commissioner

A group of House Republicans sent a letter to President Trump calling for the removal of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen.

Some House Republicans are continuing their effort to have IRS Commissioner John Koskinen removed from leading the agency.

Fifteen Republicans Members of the House Ways and Means Committee sent a letter to President Trump requesting that he fire Koskinen.

The lawmakers said that trust in the agency has eroded under his leadership, citing instances such as the agency’s targeting of conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status and mishandling of Lois Lerner’s emails during a Congressional investigation.
