The 2019 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® rankings measure employee engagement government-wide as well as at 490 individual departments, agencies and subcomponents. In 2019, the federal government-wide Best Places to Work employee engagement score is 61.7 out of 100, a 0.5-point decrease from 2018.
The data used to compile the rankings primarily comes from the Office of Personnel Management’s annual Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. Additional employee survey data was collected from 10 agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Peace Corps. The rankings also incorporate responses from employees at the nation’s intelligence agencies.
