Deficit Subcommittee Proposes Significant Cuts to Federal Employees’ Retirement

The minority staff of the Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce, and the District of Columbia recently released a report detailing more than $1.4 trillion in savings over 10 years in areas under its jurisdiction. While many of the proposed cuts are not new, some of them would significantly impact federal employees if they were to be enacted.

TSA: Children Still a Security Risk, Albeit a Smaller One

DHS announced earlier this week that revised security procedures will, in some cases, allow children 12 and under to avoid pat-downs and removing their shoes at security checkpoints. But the TSA said in a recent blog post that children could still be subjected to these things at the discretion of individual TSA officers based on a child’s appearance.
