Donald Trump Would Require Federal Employees to Sign Non-Disclosure Agreements

In a recent interview with the Washington Post led by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that he would require federal workers to sign non-disclosure agreements if he were to be elected, at least for those serving in high level positions.

The quote below is an excerpt from the interview as published in the Washington Post:

RC:  And one thing I always wondered, are you going to make employees of the federal government sign nondisclosure agreements?

DT:  I think they should. You know, when somebody — and I see it all the time. . . .  And I don’t know, there could be some kind of a law that you can’t do this. But when people are chosen by a man to go into government at high levels and then they leave government and they write a book about a man and say a lot of things that were really guarded and personal, I don’t like that. I mean, I’ll be honest. And people would say, oh, that’s terrible, you’re taking away his right to free speech. Well, he’s going in. . . .  I would say . . . I do have nondisclosure deals. That’s why you don’t read that. . . .

Fiorina: ‘I’d Fire 400 Senior Executives at the VA’

In last night’s Republican presidential debate, Carly Fiorina said that as president, she would fire 400 senior executives at the Department of Veterans Affairs for dereliction of duty to veterans.

Fiorina also reiterated that she would dramatically seek to cut the overall size of the federal workforce via attrition by not re-hiring retiring federal employees.

Fiorina is not the first presidential candidate to take aim at the VA. Donald Trump also made a promise to fire “corrupt and incompetent VA executives” in a reform plan he released for the agency several months ago as part of his presidential campaign.

Fiorina’s comments can be seen in the video above.
