Estimated 2009 Federal Pay Rates*
General Schedule Pay Rate Calculator*
*NOTE: This pay calculator reflects the estimated salary for 2009 for federal employees based on the 2008 pay rates. The 3.9% increase is used because this figure appears to be the most likely proposal at this time. It is not possible to know the final percentage that will be approved by Congress and the President, or the final changes that may be implemented by OPM to locality pay rates during the administrative process at this time. This pay calculator provides an estimate of the 2009 rates based on the proposed locality figures and proposed pay raises. The final figures, and the amount of money an individual may be paid in 2009, may differ.
The aggregate limitation on pay for calendar year 2008 will be $149,000. That may or may not change for 2009. Visit the OPM site for more information. The minimum rate of basic pay for the senior-level and scientific or professional (SL/ST) rate range will be increased by 2.5 percent ($114,468 in 2008), which is the amount of the across-the-board GS pay increase. The maximum rate of basic pay for the SL/ST rate range is the rate for EX-IV ($149,000 in 2008)
